This song came out of an alternate tuning I was playing with. I use mixed up tunings to encourage different chord progressions, get out of my head a bit, forces me to do things differently than my typical approach.

This progression is similar to the one Lionel Ritchie used in his masterpiece, Stuck On You, and of course, I didn't realize that until I was singing the song through, and my wife (I believe) started humming Stuck on You whilst walking around the house one day. She's my canary in the coalmine for my song-stealing, and if things are getting too close to another already-written song, she let's me know. Sometimes I abort the project and start again, not wanting to redo anybody's work, but for this song, it has a different feel than Lionel's beauty, so I decided to keep it going and just add his wonderful vocal line in there to tip my hat to the man. Thank you, Lionel. And please don't sue me.
